Dedemac, that is the perfect sentiment for your friend. He does have this one!
|
Made a decision to send some tops out to get them quilted rather than keep waiting "I'll get to it"
My piecing got ahead of myself. So 2 out and 2 tops done-waiting-for- basting.. I do machine binding so that's not a limiting step. Just the basting |
I UFO'd something today. I had a great idea with some scraps that I made into stars and I was going to do some alternate 4 patch blocks. Well I laid it all out on my bed \ design board and it was a hot mess. I'm getting frustrated and I think it just needs a break before I set it on fire or throw it out the window.
Im doing some quilting on another project. |
Saw this thread pop up and found it interesting to see what items are off the list I created last January.
1.Green off set barn raising DONE! 2.brown ups and downs of 2020 DONE! 3.Pinwheels from 2000 something - Still a UFO 4. Farmers Wife started three years ago - Made progress, but still a UFO 5. one from Wedding Dress Blue - can't remember the name - DONE 6. Christmas Exchange block quilt from way too long ago - Oh So not done! UGLY quilt qualifier. 7 & 8 Two that are just made of scraps and that have no name.- DONE Did OK this year. Now on to 2022! |
WMUTeach; congratulations. You accomplished a lot. There was some reason it became a UFO. So there's overcoming to be done.
You deserve a reward: a glass of wine, manicure, massage, bouquet of baloons/flowers.... At the last VQW I |
Rff1010: Sometimes projects do need a time out.
WMUTeach: Congratulations on your finishes and progress. petthefabric: Good luck with finishing your top. My recap: 3 of the UFOs were added to the sandwich pile.; the applique pillow top is finished along with the applique tea towel; and the top of Trip Around the World found in a donation was completed and donated to my church group to finish. The last project has been sitting on a table waiting for me to applique the last couple of blocks. So progress was made but I will start the year with 4 known UFOs. Happy New Year! |
I finished two quilts, finished three tops and started two more UFOs. My 2022 Goal: Finish 9 Quilts
In Pieces: - Sylvia's Bridal Sampler - Winding Ways - Star Patch - Sister's BOM - Hunter's Star - Double Wedding Ring table runner - Grandmother's Fan - Birthday Candy Baskets - Scrappy Nine Patches and Stars - Jewel Box Basted/Half Quilted: - Burgoyne Surrounded - Sunbonnet Sue - Teddy Baby Quilt - Fall Wall hanging - Duck wall hanging Tops Ready to be Quilted: - Riley Blake Sampler - Sisters Choice - Scrappy Log Cabin - Summer Quilt - Impressionist Wreaths - Blue and Yellow BOOM 22 Sampler - Four-Patch Square Dance I have an embarrassing amount of started UFOs! |

I hope everyone had a safe, blessed and glorious holiday <3
I got one final UFO done for the year 2021! :) I don't believe I have it listed on my initial list for this year. It is a "Field & Game" Embroidered squares quilt. If I remember correctly, it is around 6yo. It has been cut and kitted for at least 3 of those. Again, I got the squares from a friend who embroiders to stay sane. The accent materials all came from stash, so it also counts for the Fabric Moratorium thread. |
Is there going to be a UFO 2022 thread?

Has anyone taken the lead on hosting this thread for 2022? Please let me know we have interest. I don’t want to step on anyone’s toes. But I will start the thread if members would like. I really enjoy this thread in the past.
|
I will certainly join a UFO thread if you start one, happylab.
|
Hi Happylab - I have also enjoyed following this thread although I don't actually have much in the way of UFOs. I know Conchalea is pretty busy these days and would probably be fine if you wanted to take the lead on a UFO thread for the new year. I don't want to speak for her but I was in touch with her regarding the Fabric Moratorium so am guessing her response for this thread would be similar. :-)
|
happylab, I am certainly interested in having a UFO thread (even though I don't contribute many finishes). Thanks for your willingness to start it!
|
Happylab, I would be interested in a UFO thread for 2022 so if you are willing to host, count me in!

Happylab, there is a thread on the mainboard. Looks like many potential members.
|
I would join again.
Krisb: I couldn't find the UFO thread on the mainboard. I thought I had seen a similar one earlier in the month though. |
I tried to start a new thread at least 3 days ago. It needs approval before they'll release it.
Maybe someone else who's started these things before would have more timely action. |

I've been a lurker to this thread for four or five years now and I truly enjoy this thread. Please
HappyLab', take lead and head this up again, get the approval of the administrators and keep the 'UFO TRAIN' a going cherrybsixty |
Ready to join the train. I have a whole box car of UFO's that need to be dealt with. Mostly tops that need to be layered, quilted and bound and a basket of blocks from the Debbie Brown project from last year. Will watch for the 2022 thread and jump on ASAP. .
|
Thanks, Krisb.

I’m so glad we have several members interested in this thread.
I send out a message to the administrators so I/we can get this thread going. I’m waiting for return message with details. A few years ago I just made a new post for the thread. So I will wait a few days before I do that. |
I would like to join as well. I've followed this thread for several years and enjoyed seeing everyone's finishes. This year I'd like to make some progress on the closet full of tops and partial quilts that have accumulated over the years.

Update. I tried to post a new thread. Not sure I’m doing it right. I asked for direction. Just got done writing up & sending out a new thread, but received a message it could be a few days before I know for sure or not. The message flashed too fast for me to read the entire message, so keep your fingers crossed. I put the new thread under challenges section. Keep looking there if my efforts worked.

Happy to wait. While waiting I am quilting a UFO that had been layered last April and has been cluttering up my sewing room moving from place to place to get it out of the way. Last night I unfolded it, it was folded with the backing "out" and I was sure surprised to find what I had created. I had forgotten all about making that RWB scrap quilt.. ;) So, if the administration does not hurry on opening the new thread, I will be short one UFO. So sad..... Tee-Hee-Hee.
Did you ever get any kind of approval? When I got the OK for the Birthday Swap, I just created the thread myself, posted and away we went. Keep at it, we are here and ready to get some of the UFO's off the list. |
Good Evening everyone, I don't understand why there is no response to you HappyLab, you have headed the 'UFO Train before. WMUT, please take pix of what you are working on, we still like pictures
