Rest and Refreshing BOW Civil War Sampler Quilt

I'm having a great deal of trouble with my Fit to be Geese Ruler. I can't seem to find that 3rd cut. Does anyone else have this ruler. It's like my ruler doesn't have a line that the diagram has.

I don't have that ruler. I do have several other geese rulers and end up not using any of them. I just cut the rectangle 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" and use two 2 1/2" squares with it. I find the rulers are more bother than they're worth. I like easy!

I'm still cleaning and rearranging in my sewing studio. I did make four more blocks. Two of each of these. I'll keep a pair and the other pair goes in Gloria's birthday quilt. I found this hen and rooster online at Hobby Lobby. Just had to buy the pair to go with Gloria's quilt... then when they arrived I couldn't resist ordering another set for myself!
By the way, does anybody know the name of the first block? Janet

Really cute, JustJan!
Marcia, I don't have the ruler you are asking about. Pretty much I cut the rectangle, and then cut the two triangles with my easy angle ruler and sew them on and flip them. Then I trim the corners off the rectangle underneath.
Some patterns give you the size of a square to bisect, to get that big triangle in the goose. Then you can add the small triangles and have nothing to trim (no 'bonus' triangles). I find bonus triangles more trouble than they are worth to find a use for...
