UFO Challenge of the Month 2012
By popular demand (again ), here is the official thread for the UFO Challenge of the Month 2012!
The way it works: anyone can be a member and there are no penalties if you're busy one month. Try to finish one UFO each month. Once it's finished, post a picture and description here. We'll ooh and ahh. Try to finish another one next month.
This can also work if you need ideas for how to finish yours or encouragement. I want this to be an area where we can support each other in getting through our UFOs for 2012.
A few rules/guidelines for the challenge:
"Finished" means all the way done and ready to use. If you give it away or trade it away, it counts since you're finished with it!
SWAPPING is NOT part of this challenge. If members want to trade between themselves that's just fine. I mean only that it isn't a part of this and should be done separately between individuals.
And the way I differentiate a UFO with a WIP - a UFO is something that you put down awhile ago and don't feel a strong desire to pick up again since there are more exciting things to do. So pretty much any of those projects that you put into your closet and forgot about qualify.
So everyone's challenge/goal: 1 UFO completed by January 31, 2012. Good luck! Here's wishing all of us good luck and LOTS of energy and enthusiasm in 2012!

oh i am so ready for this one this year! i have such a stack...ones that have been years taking up space- for what ever reason i chose to not get rid of them---so i need to finish them- i even started pulling them out of the closet- and placing them strategically in the way in my sewing room hoping that would entice me to work on them---so far- not so much-- but maybe instead of overwhelming myself with a whole stack it would be better to join this group--and concentrate on one--and a deadline---maybe i will even just start at the first one i see- work on it til it's done-- move on to the next....already motivated (of course i have 3 or 4 wips and of course started something new today....
i am so hopeless
but I am jumping into this challenge---and going to try to stick with it---just having others who---understand will help i think

ta-da...here is the official topic for this event!
Count me in..I need to tackle more than 30 UFO's this year...some are more than 10 years old! I used to teach a lot of classes, especially mystery quilt classes...SO, I have all these quilts in various stages as you had to teach ONE step at a time...when I left AK and quit teaching those classes, I had no place for those quilts to go, so they got set aside. I also took a lot of classes and those quilts/projects are never finished in the class, so when I get home, it is on to whatever I am already working on an the class project is set aside....Now, they are taking up room and need to be GONE....wish me luck!

Count me in for the challenge. I am doing better at finishing a project before moving on but I still get side tracked once in a while. Now I have to decide on which UFO to get working on. I have several to pick from. Have fun everyone. Hope we meet the dead line.
