UFO Challenge of the Month 2012

Okay quilting friends! Ring that bell for another UFO now classified as DONE. I even washed and dried it. Took pic before washing though. Nice that some of my quilts have feet in pic thanks to DH holding them up. I do have to say that unless things change, I will never machine quilt a big quilt on my little Viking again. They will go off to the LA person. I said some words I shouldn't have while doing it. But lessons learned and that's what life is all about. My label says Selvage Quilt!

I love the colours in this, What an interesting design. I bet you don't want to see another small square for quite a long time!

A few more could not get on first post. Finished these up during this week, except the one that is on longarm now. Will be a chore to quilt, but should make it look awesome when done. Hopefully will get to post soon that is done in February. The binding may be my only issue in getting done, curved edges.

I really like this - great colour choices. A pattern I'd like to try sometime. (all right, I know, not until I've cleared some UFOs!)

Holy cow! Turn my back for a day and look at all the wonderful finished quilts posted. No wonder my ears were ringing!! So many and so beautiful. I love them all, and have added a couple to my "to try" list (oh no!). I have finished my t-shirt quilt also!! yayyyyyyyyyyy...
I created my own templates of a fiddle, guitar, banjo, and mandolin and included that in the quilting. I will have to send the pics in 2 batches. Hope you like it.

So - I've had a happy half hour looking at all the finished quilts that have been posted here this week. Me? Nothing to show yet. I'm doing Leah Day's Quilt Along at the moment, and am also getting to know a new machine. As I do Leah's tutes, I'm digging out UFOs that will enable me to practice what she's been demonstrating, so some of them are moving on a bit, but nothing's actually getting finished. My problem is that I'm so careless/accident-prone that I spend much valuable time sorting out mistakes. An example - this week I got out a Christmas wall hanging that just needed some quilting on the borders to finish it off. Following Leah's lesson on Stippling I rattled that off, and began to get excited about binding and finishing it - until I turned it over and discovered that the backing had shifted as I quilted on 2 sides, so I've had to undo quite a lot of the quilting. There are also about 5 million threads to be disappeared into the back of the quilt (serves me right for not doing them as I went along). And at some point in the making I managed to bleed onto the top, so if I ever get the thing bound, I have to wash it and hope that the stain will come out. That will be before I sew on the sequins that I've decided would be a nice finishing touch (it's a Christmas tree). Oh, and I also realised just yesterday that the backing has a one-way pattern and I've put it on sideways! Doesn't really matter as it's a wall hanging, and (obviously!) isn't very noticeable anyway, but par for the course!
So it looks as if this one might just about be finished by Christmas - and all the other UFOs are still waiting. I wonder why I never get anything finished...!
And believe it or not, I do TRY to be careful!

[QUOTE=dressmakergurl;4920074]I made this for my mom 2 years ago. It was to big and I had to take the
plackets off and add tab closures. I stuffed it in a tote. I have been wanting
to finish this. this challenge got ma going. I finished 3 projects today.
This was the main one. Now I will take it to her tomorrow and hope
it gets cold enough for her to wear. I\[/QU
