I'm another one who makes pineapple upside down cake in mine. I've never made it in anything else.

I bake my home made yeast rolls in my cast iron frying pan and they come out perfect everytime. I have done pizzas and frittatas in them too. It was mentioned earlier about a cookie in one, I had never thought of that, will be trying it out.

Unhappy Cast Iron weight

The last 12” skillet I looked at was 15 pds. The lid was also cast iron. Add food & lifting that hot weightin or out of a low oven. .......
No way.....but that’s just me & my Sis. She has a ton of it,in her basement, stored away. After wrist & shoulder surgeries, she can’t lift anything heavy.

I made sure the oven was at elbow height when we bought our last house. Most ovens you have to bend over to get the pans out. That makes no sense to me.
