A lot of those foods I have thrown the leftovers into the soup pot and stews. I have reheated them for years and we're all still alive and I don't recall anyone getting sick. If you read the article it even went into reheating chicken, again, I've purchased a rotisserie chicken in the grocery stores hundreds of time and reheated it and the leftovers and we're all good here. I think we just need to store our leftovers properly and don't let the food sit out after everyone has been served and finished eating.

Well I should have been dead long ago. We reheat what we want, and keep things in the fridge probably longer than suggested and we are old and have never gotten sick from anything from our fridge.

The main take-away I got from that article is "Don't leave leftovers out on the counter." Which I don't do anyway. The way I look at internet articles like that, if the title was "You're probably OK" no one would click on it. But "You're doing XYZ Wrong!!!!" will get the clicks. And since the internet started, I found out I am doing everything wrong.

As always, just because its on the internet doesn't make it true. As others have said, common sense and proper food handling goes a long way. There are many bait click sites out there, click with caution. As ptquilts stated, lots of folks do anything for clicks, clicks make them money.

I totally agree!!!! Some leftovers I really dint like refrigerated - so I don’t. I’m 73 and have never gotten sick in something I’ve either nit refrigerated overnight, kept a little too long in the frige or microwaved things from thus list. And I’m still a,I’ve and doing very well health, etc.

My husband thinks food has to be completely cool before we cover & refrigerate. We’re alive & well - - so far.

Cooked foods need to be kept out of the danger zone. The danger zone is the temperature that allows bacteria growth. Properly stored leftovers can be reheated.

I reheat anything I have leftover and ignore the expiration dates. If it smells and taste good we eat it.

We grew up well before expirations came up. We are in late 70s.

    No food related illnesses here.
