Sorry I haven't heard of Jiffy Mix either here in Australia. I suppos a basic pastry recipe would be a substitute. What do you think?

Probably would be similar, I haven't tried this copycat recipe but it would give you a better idea.

Thanks for the link but it seems to be a recipe that is very high on fat which I need to avoid as much as possible. Thanks again. I am sure they are tasty.

    lauriejo,
Didn't know Bisquick had a gluten-free mix. How are the recipes?

The recipes on the box are very similar to what I remember. It doesn't quite work cup for cup with regular recipes, it seems to thicken more and need a little more liquid. They do have some more recipes on the website, but not all of the ones in my cookbooks. I used it with the leftover mashed potatoes after Thanksgiving and it was delish!

Thanks for the gluten-free info. Have you tried it in sausage balls?

I watch what I eat too - except for the holidays! With only one or two parties - I can splurge!!!!!

I've also noticed I still gravitate towards the veggies and fruit if offered.

I have a suggestion for your recipe......Add 3 T milk (skim works fine) and your sausage balls will be a bit more moist. I also use 3 C Bisquick (instead of 2) and 2 cups shredded SHARP cheddar cheese. And the ONLY sausage I'll use is Tennessee Pride hot! Sometimes, I use 1/2 hot & 1/2 mild mixed - depending on who they're for.

Do you brown the sausage first before mixing with cheese and bisquick? Thanks, Cindy
