Pampered Chef makes a tuna drainer which fits the larger cans and works very well. It has little side extensions to hold so you don't get the tuna oil or water on your hands. When I can't find mine it's the old squish it over the sink.

@sueisallaboutquilts, This is exactly what I do. And Kitten could be a mile away but she comes running when she smells(?) or hears(?) this happening.

Exactly what I do. One of my cats comes running whenver she hears the can opener.

I put the can in the fridge the day before (unopened) so when I open, drain, and use it, it is already very cold so I can enjoy it sooner. Especially if I forgot to do it earlier that day.

That's the way I do it too. I just open it 30 min early and let it drain. No squishing! Put it in the fridge if you want it to be cold.
