I make mine with regular pie crust pre brown the crust. I put pb and powdered sugar crumbled on the bottom layer of crust, then cook home made vanilla pudding with Peanut butter added about a 1/2 cup PB pour into crust and then add another layer of PB and powdered sugar on top of the pudding then make a meringe for on top then sprinkle more pb and Powdered sugar on top. This is rich but it is gone as soon as it gets cool around here. Have to make it for a lot of friends. good luck Cookie

Don't for sure what you call an old fashion pie but this one has been in this family for years and years. My son makes these lots and is known at church for his cooking.
Peanut Butter Pies
2 - 3 oz. cream cheese, softened
16 oz. whipped topping
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 cup powdered sugar (sifted)
3 Tblsp. lowfat or skim milk
2 - 8 inch graham cracker/chocolate pie crust
Beat cream cheese at hugh speed until fluffy. Add whipped topping , peanut butter, sugar and milk. Beat well. Pour into pie crusts.
*For best results and taste, let chill overnight before serving.
*Makes 2 8 inch pies or 1 giant 9 inch.

That should read 2- 3 oz packages for a total of 6 oz.
I have made this using the low fat cream cheese and non fat whipped topping and it is still wonderful. No one even notices the difference. Have also used it as filling in a really rich chocolate cake and then iced it with chocolate icing. Always take those to church suppers as I don't want it sitting around here calling my name for any length of time

Here is a prize winning recipe. I got the recipe from my mother who got it from a friend. I made itfor a piecontest at our local county fair several years ago and won a trophy for it.
PEANUT BUTTER PIE
1 baked pie crust
2/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups 2% milk
3 egg yolks
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup peanut butter
Cream powdered sugar and peanut butter until crumbly. Place crumbs in bottom of baked crust, reserving some crumbs to place on top of meringue. Combine sugar, cornstarch, and salt in medium saucepan. Separate eggs and save whites for meringue. Add egg yolks to milk and whisk to break. Stir into sugar mixture. Place on burner at medium. Cook and stir until thick. Stir constantly to prevent sticking. Remove from heat and add shortening and vanilla. Beat egg whites until stiff. Add 3 tablespoons sugar and beat until sugar is dissolved. Place filling in pie crust and cover with meringue, making sure it comes to the crust. Sprinkle with reserved crumbs. Place in 350 degree oven for 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
