watermellon rine for pickles, this year I made my own mint jelly YUMMMMMM it turned out minty fruity due to the pectin i'm sure. Most important it was better than in the stores of course i used twice as much mint as needed.

My momma and I made Beet Jelly a few times! Sounds wierd, but it was so yummy!!! You use beet juice and add some raspberry jello (the powder, not the completed jello  ). It doesn't even taste like beets!! :D :D

That's one of my favorites, too. Although I haven't made any for quite some time. All this talk about jams and jellies really has my mouth watering. With all due regard to Smuckers and the other jam/jelly makers, store bought just doesn't hold a candle to home canned.

    Never heard of tomato jelly!!!!!!!!!!!!
What does it taste like? Sweet tomatoes? HMMMMMM.

Does anyone have a good chowchow recipe. Sorry, but you mentioned tomatoes. I don't have anything at present to make jelly with. No longer can find plums in south Alabama. I think the wild ones died out a few years ago. Loved the yellow ones that my mom used to make pies with. Yummy!!
