I had never heard of 'mayonnaise' biscuits, but made this recipe last night---tho't adding grated cheddar cheese sounded good. OH MY, they were delicious--just too many "muffin biscuits" for two old folks. Will halve the recipe next time. Thanks for introducing me to this recipe!

How do I save this entry for a later reference? I see two things I want to try sometime and won't remember the recipes when I do decide to make some biscuits or corn bread--a not very often occasion (spell?) at this house....

Thanks Sour Cream Biscuits 1/2 lb Butter (2 sticks, melted) 2 Cups self rising flour 1 Cup Sour Cream Mix all ingredients together, just until combined. Fill muffin tins 2/3 full Bake at *350 until golden brown. About 25 minutes Batter will yield about 10-12 biscuits. I usually halve this recipe and bake them dropped by heaping Tablespoon into a cookie sheet. Instead of using the muffin tin. They are great with savory meals and scrumptious with strawberry jam as well. I've even used them as shortcakes with fresh strawberries. |
Add some grated cheddar to the mayonnaise biscuits - wonderful!

Tried the mayo biscuit recipe in a muffin tin. They have an interesting texture, like a cross between a biscuit and a muffin. It's a great recipe if you want to whip up a quick batch of biscuits.
