I don't do an over night soak. Recently I started using my Instapot.

I soak every kind over night.

I do the quick soak. Bring beans and water to a boil, turn the burner off for an hour, then cook as usual. Sometimes i drain off that water and start with fresh.

I always soak my navy beans overnight and then put them in my crockpot with seasonings and savor the smell all day long.

I soak any and all beans overnight with baking soda. Next day I drain and rinse beans real good. I cook several hours add ham chunks add salt and pepper. Serve with hot cornbread.

I always soak my beans overnight to get rid of the phytic acid. After 12 hours I rinse them well and cook them in fresh water with nothing else. Doing that makes the beans more digestible and healthier for you and much less gas. I don’t add salt till the beans are tender otherwise the beans will be tough. I cook on stove top in Le Creuset. Beans are incredibly healthy and loaded with fiber. Dr Fuhrman says they “sweep” your colon!

Beans might not cook all the way if the water is hard. I have to purchase water to cook beans.

I sort and rinse my beans, add a ham hock and pressure for 2 hours, then I add salt and Hatch green chili and freeze in portions.

I don't plan far enough ahead to soak overnight! I put dried pintos in the crock pot and add water, a can of Ro-tel tomatoes, onion, and spices like cumin and garlic. I feel that the water absorbed by the beans has more flavor.

I do not soak mine, however, I do add a pinch of soda when boiling the 15 minutes, it removes "the gas."
