Oooh, I wish I could get Steelhead around here...the only way I've gotten it is through one of the 'meal boxes' that we use from time to time. I love it almost more than salmon, I think! We just had some Arctic Char, which was very light and delicate...lovely.

My DH loves salmon - I can take it or leave it. I am allergic to it, that and tuna will make my mouth feel like it's on fire. The first time it happened I couldn't figure out what was happening. But there is something in mayo that neutralizes it so I just smother it with tarter sauce. When I was in the hospital a year ago the doctor said if I could keep my lunch down he would let me go home that day. They brought me poached salmon for lunch with no sauce, I started to eat it - but the allergy kicked in, my husband came in as I was trying to decide whether or not to flush it down the toilet. He was happy to eat it for me. Everything else stayed down, so I didn't feel bad about not eating the salmon.

Wow, you are inspiring me to give salmon a try. Oh, I used to have it when I ate out but that has ended. But guess I can try preparing it myself look at all of you that do that several times a week!. My local grocery has a good seafood section but just never tried salmon at home. On the list for my next shopping trip. You inspire me.

Our local Safeway has frozen, salmon fillets by the bag, with usually 6, or 7 meal sized pieces, for only $5.99/bag. They've had it all year and sometimes on sale for only $5/bag. You have your choice of Atlantic, or Pacific, wild salmon. Yeah...OK...it's not fresh salmon, but it's not bad, especially for that price. If you have a Safeway, or Albertson's near you, check the freezer section.

I need to eat more fish and kinds of seafood. This sounds like a good place to start. I do use the raspberry vinaigrette so i just have to get the salmon.
