That was my thought, too, when I read the recipe!

It does sound good - and it makes a big batch!

I think it was the first cookie recipe that I've seen both butter and vegetable oil used in the same batch. But then I read the rest of the ingredients -

My other thought was - a lot of people could be allergic to it! (Don't know why that thought crossed my mind as I was reading it!)

It has wheat flour, eggs, corn, tree nuts, butter (if people are lactose intolerant, does butter bother them?)

FYI if you are going to try this recipe. I did the recipe Dishpan cookies because it also called for vegetable oil instead of margarine or butter and I thought it would be healthier. I could taste the vegetable oil in them and didn’t like it. The vegetable oil taste did get better after a few days but I will not use vegetable oil again in cookies.

It wouldn't be my favorite because it has coconut in it

I'm with SusieQOH Don't care for coconut. In ANYTHING. The cookie with the grated chocolate bar sounds like Neimun Marcus's cookie recipe.

I made these cookies today and they disappeared really fast at the quilt group meeting. Not a crumb left. 1 box chocolate fudge cake mix (pudding in the mix,) 1 egg, 2 cups cool whip (not frozen) Stir together the egg and the cool whip, add the whole box of cake mix. Stir to mix. Add 1 pkg (16 ozs) chocolate mini chips and nuts of your choice. Dredge in confectioners sugar Bake at 350 for 10-13 minutes. Cool on wire rack.

My favorite cookie is "Worst Ever Chocolate Chip Cookie" from the SugarSpun site. Haven't tried this "World's Best Cookie" but will try it too.

Hmmm... had to google that and printed out the Taste of Home recipe.... all I need to do now is find out if the chocolate kisses are gluten free... and if they are ... I can try this out on my quilt group, thanks!
