I bought the LX 3125 at WalMart. Overall, it is a nice machine, especially for the money, but the noise (maybe the bobbin or needle casing area) is bothersome to me.

Wow! I really appreciate all the ideas. I wish Singer still made the Featherweight, and I will watch for it. Unfortunately, the Amazon machine is out of stock right now but will look elsewhere....
