I bought one of these several years ago, but haven't used it very much, neat idea. If you cut the strips on the diagonal, then the edges are on the straight of grain, I remember that much.

I was at the quilt show in Hampton last weekend and one of the vendors had take the pony tail holders and had bagged them up, was selling them as bobbin covers!
