    the sparkly will never totally wash away - it just mellows out - as for painted on fabric, from what I have used it stays pretty well through 10 years of washing so far - good luck

    I find them hard to work with as I can't "feel" the needle. What I usually do is paint a couple of layers of liquid bandage on the spot on my finger where the needle hits. It really seems to help....
