I agree, I use my queen size bed. It's the only big surface I have other than the floor. If I got down there though, I'd never get up! Smaller quilts I use the dining room table.

Every piece of fabric less than fat quarter size I keep just about the same way you keep yours. I have them by color, it works for me. I don't use a ruler to fold them, I just try to keep them all...

All the baby quilts I've made have been close to 45X60. I buy that size batting whenever I have a coupon from Joann's so I always have one on the ready.

I use my regular floor lamp with a Sylvania daylight bulb for hand sewing. Love it! I have LED bulbs in my ceiling fixture over my cutting table and an Ott light clamped to my sewing machine table.
