    I Am taking a class from Jackie now, Glacier Star, using batiks and she is excellent teacher. Batiks are easier with paper piecing.

    Stop at A Quilter's Oasis in east Mesa, just south of Apache Junction, on Crismon and
    Baseline. It is not a large store but very good. Also Mulqueens in Mesa is large and awesome.

    I use crochet thread for tying, using 3 strands and think it is better than using embroidery thread.

    I use mostly flannel on backs of my quilts. I have made some baby ones with Minky. If I send it away to be quilted, then I use 100% cotton widebacks if I can find them on sale.

    There is a Simplified Hunter's Star pattern out there that I have made 3 quilts from. It is basically the same principle as MSQC free pattern.
