Hi all~ I am a newbie to the board, but have been quilting for years now. My preferences run more to the Art/free-form style, but can and have done more traditional quilts.

Here's a link to my blog. The Dec 2007 post "Procrastination" has pics of some of my work. I would be interested converting any of you newbies into fabric addicts vie internet or in person if you happen to live nearby. (S.E. Washington)

LOL! Extreme multi-tasking leads to air-headed actions.

Here's the link....

I'm a definite Newbie and I could use a Quilting Big Sister!
I am in the process of pinning the layers of my very first quilt.
I have fabric for my next 2 quilts already. (OK...I got excited!!)
And most of the abbreviations y'all use are Greek to me!
:-)
(I DID get "LAQ", but that's about all!)

Trying to decide whether to machine quilt it myself --straights ONLY for a while -- my daughter and I had a good laugh at my practice free motion attempt!
OR..do I take it to a LAQ? Turns out my neighbor 3 houses up does that.

I'm not sure who has been "adopted" already, so if you see anything on the blog that interests you drop me a message.

I don't think I am ready to be a quilting adoptee, but when I am this thread is particularly inspiring. I am a young mom who just doesn't get as much time to read and learn, practice as I'd like, and the help you more experienced ladies are giving is priceless to those receiving it, I am sure of it! Kudos!

Heather.
I'll adopt you if you want. I've been quilting on and off since the '80s, and like to make quilt tops that are fast and easy. I do free motion machine quilting and some hand quilting. If it's a quilt that I want to finish the same year that I started, I will machine quilt it. Next month I will begin teaching machine quilting at the local college. And I do NOT use a long arm machine. Right now I am finishing up a king sized quilt on my vintage Featherweight.
