daughter did this with her in-laws when they decided to not do gifts but have snacks and a game night...she took new games, though out of the plastic wrappings, to play and each youngster got to take a game home after as they were for young children and she had none in her house. There is always a way to get around things and still be a part. I'd give the gifts and still participate in the white elephant and have a good time.

Since you made them for your family, and they were made with love, I would go ahead and give to them. I know they will all appreciate the gifts. I know I would. MERRY CHRISTMAS

I would just give out the heartfelt gifts you've made and choose a funny white elephant gift. I would just say, since I had already made these, I decided to bring them anyways :) I'm sure everyone will love them.

this is good idea. give all the gifts to the family, except SIL. just lay it aside. If she asks about it, say you thought she didn't want it, because she is the only one who decided not to exchange, and you were not in on the discussion.

My in-laws stopped giving my husband and me gifts probably 10 years ago because...well, because they don't like me. But that doesn't stop us from giving them gifts, for two reasons:

1. We still want to give to our nieces and nephew, and...
2. Giving is what family does. Just because they don't like me doesn't mean they're not part of my family. If they don't like what I make or buy for them they can bin it, no skin off my nose.

Success is in the action, not the reaction.

Do whatever YOU want to do!

Find a white elephant gift and join in on the fun.
Maybe hand them the gifts as you are all leaving, and wish them a heartfelt Merry Christmas. Don't let their inconsideration bother you, or your Christmas spirit  :D:D:D

I would give them their gift with the spirit in which they were made. Please don't let then ruin your wonderful Christmas Spirit. Bring a white elephant gift. You can tell them you sew enjoyed making their gift if they ask. Don't feel hurt or bad. You made these wonderful gifts with alot thought and feeling and that is how you should give them.
Next year of they want to exchange you can decline and just enjoy their company and the holiday.
Merry Christmas
Hugs Nonnie
