Warm Debrox.. tip head over, fill ear canal with warm Debrox.. put cotton ball in ear.. let it stay in there for 40 to 45 minutes.. Flush with warm water using a soft rubber bulb.. May have to flush it quite a few times but pretty soon a plug of wax will wash out. I've been doing my DH's ears for 40 years.. 40 years, oh my gosh, I had no idea what I was getting myself into all those years ago when I said, "I can do that!" We went to the ENT doctor the first time, he thought he was losing his hearing.. When he said that it was just wax and how the doc took care of it, I volunteered...

There is an ear wax dissolver sound OTC....
That said...I would make sure that is the problem.
If it it seriously impacted Iwould highly recommend a visit to your doctor...you really don't want to mess with it yourself .. a puncture of the ear drum happens so fast, which is why the old saying states: The only thing to put in your ear is your elbow!

Oh my gosh that explains my husbands cancer scare! I told him not to do this but he was the expert!

So I did, for 4 days, then I looked in my mouth - it looked like someone had taken a seam ripper and ripped the inside of my cheek from the back tooth to the front tooth. I thought I had cancer or something. It scared me so bad, I got an appointment to see the doctor the next day. He didn't see it at first because he looked down my throat. Then I showed him and he was shocked by the way it looked. He said not to use it in your mouth like that. I killed off all the good bacteria and chemically burned the inside of my mouth. It has been 2 weeks now and it still hasn't healed yet. If you have to use peroxide, use one that is dulited. You can get it at the drug store.

When I was little and had ear aches, my mom made a little ball of pepper in a cloth and put warm oil on it and put that in our ears. That worked for us. We had ear aches all the time. She cut a circle out of the fabric, then put pepper in it, used a string to tie it up, then heated oil in a spoon and put the ball of pepper in it. It stayed warm long enough for us to go to sleep.

After all these 'remedies' I have one even easier to use. My DD had ear problems and ear vent tubes all her childhood. She met a doc last year that gave her some welcome advice to prevent just what you are asking about. He told her to plug her nose , close her eyes, and blow hard. It will eventually make her ears 'pop' and with out drugs or anything hazardous to her hearing. Do this about once an hour through the day and see if he doesn't fix the problem himself. If it is painful to do, get him to an ENT asap.

Dr. Oz says to leave baby oil inthe ear for a few minutes, then let it drain out.
