I would buy a beautiful card, and include a hand written note, that says you are making them a quilt, and ask them for color choice?

Ok, so, here's the embarrassing thing...I thought the wedding was this coming weekend but it turns out, I had my weeks confused. I thought for sure we were in the last week of July but we're not. Soooo, the wedding is 13 days away.

why rush a gift for such an important friend on such an important occasion.
I agree. Maybe ask for the friend's input as to colors etc.

Don't kill yourself doing this. You know that is when mistakes happen. Enjoy the wedding and then get to work. You'll have a beautiful quilt ready when the cold weather sets in. Just my opinion ~

I agree with Fabric Fancy. Take the time to do something special and give it to them at a later time. All you have to tell them is it's a special gift for a special couple.

I know that this response is coming after the fact, but in the past I have given a beautiful card with a message indicating that their special gift is in progress and will be presented in..... (You fill in the blank with the amount of time your feel is appropriate).

I just gave a quilt last week-end that was slightly more that one year after the wedding. The quilt was finished earlier but The grooms mother suggested that I wait for the couple to travel home from out of state to present them with the gift at a family reunion. It worked.

Make Pillow shams in your chosen fabric and say the quilt will follow

I give tree skirts for wedding gifts to close family members and close friends. They don't get them at the wedding but they do get it before their first christmas. sometimes I put some of their wedding pictures on the tree skirts and their dates and maybe a few words of they song. So tell them what you are going to give them and give it to them at a later date. Most of the time they open their gifts the next day or after honeymoon and they have so many things that a new gift later will be really appreciated also
