I only paid $12 for the footpedal and power cord. If you want this repair shop name, please PM me. I am not sure if he ships. I am going to see him tomorrow. I can ask.

I wrote to Singer whining about the databases no longer being accessible and basically you can call the 800 number (ALWAYS busy) or write to them at [email protected] to get the information. I thanked them for replying to me but explained that i was might unhappy and dissatisfied with the way it is now. Maybe if enough people write or call, they'll put the info back up.
Singer email addy is: [email protected]

I again just went to mySINGERstory.com and if you put your serial number in on the right, with your name and email IT DOES WORK. SingerCo.com also allows you to print a FREE manual.

It does not give you all the information that was in the tables. For instance, the certificate tells me that my serial # (for my FW) was issued in 1950, but doesn't tell me that it's a model 221-1, made at the Elizabethport Plant, in Elizabeth NJ. Often when someone is looking up a serial number it's to find out the model number, and Singer doesn't provide that on the certificate.

Thanks Dunster. That is what I was wondering. This decision of theirs is not customer friendly but maybe they don't care. Wish I had printed out the stuff relating to my machines, even if I didn't print the entire database which I heard some were doing.

In my area, Central NY, that would not be a good deal as there are tons of them around. I have passed on them in antique shops for $7.50!

You did look in the top of the case and made sure it isn't in there, didn't you? My 99 has a place where the knee bar fits in the top, but I don't know how it does.
I saw some knee bars on one of the sites on the net, and think it might be in one something like Sewing DR or have the RX name in it. I did find this one who is planning on having some made.

You also might check with a local sewing machine repair shop and see if they have any. Good luck. You have a beautiful machine there.
