I go to Supercuts, ask for the same girl every time and a cut is $14. It has to be pretty much the same wherever you go as it is a chain. Try it and see.

You'd have thought the world was coming to an end.

Wow, what a variety of pricing! I go about every 10-11 weeks. I stretch it out as much as possible. I have color and a cut, blow dry and style for about $75 + tip. It is definitely an expense but I cut corners on other things...for example, I drive a 1999 Jeep with 190K miles. If I could retire tomorrow, I would not spend so much, but there is a lot of competition for jobs and I want to look my absolute best.

As a salon owner I want to put my 2 cents worth in here. I charge $41 for a haircut and blow dry, best price in the neighborhood I'm in. Not only is there rent/mortgage to be paid, but also city/county/stare taxes, insurance, electric, water, supplies, phone, licenses for the salon, licenses for stylists, water/coffee for clients, business cards, magazines, cleaning supplies, the list goes on and on, so I do not think the prices are outrageous, we make less than minimum wage standing on our feet all day, it's very hard work and very few stylists get rich, it's a job you have to love to stick with it.

I paid $35+ for haircuts over 20 years ago when I lived in San Diego! Now that I'm a "country" girl I trim my own and leave those beautiful white hairs right where they are!

That's what I pay in Northwest GA. But it includes wash, cut, and style. Which to me is totally worth it.
