Very pretty, I grew them years ago, now just Regular Cacti and bonsai. I have had regular cacti for about 38 or 40 yrs. still growing.

Yours is so pretty! I have one but it hasn't bloomed yet. It's from a cutting that was over 100 years old! The orgininal is huge and has hundreds of blooms. It belongs to my friend whose great grandmother got a cutting from a friend when she was first married! Here is a picture of mine.

Last year my Christmas catcus was in great bloom which lasted until Mother's Day. After the last blossoms dropped I did a deep pruning and it's spent the last few months expending its energy growing tons of new shoots. I do not think it will bloom this year but I'm betting next Christmas it will look beautiful! I can only hope.

Very pretty! Do you always have it by that window? Is it an East or South facing window?

I bought one yesterday at Lowes that is sort of an apricot color. I had never seen one that color before. I'm hoping to use it as a hostess gift for a Christmas Eve open house. It is just starting to bloom and has lots of buds. We left it in the enclosed garage hoping that since it is cooler and it would have less light that maybe that would slow down it's blooming. If not, and it's all bloomed out by Christmas, I guess it will become mine.

Love yours -- mine has not yet put out buds (it usually blooms after Christmas).

The window faces SE.The cactus spends the summer in a north facing flower garden, then comes inside once temps start to get pretty cold at night.Always sits on same table.
DH's Grmother had one that grew in a bushel basket size pottery vase.Had double red flowers & was a sight to see. Hers was on a north facing enclosed porch.Too big to be moved.
