My DM used to make the most beautiful crazy quilts from velvet, silk and brocades.

Thanks everyone! I do make totes and bags so that is what intriqued me. I may tell her I don't want the velvet but everything else. If I don't use it, my mom loves fabric too...if you sit still for too long she will either paint you or put fabric on you. lol

Check with your local guild and see if anyone is interested. If you can't use it, I don't think I would buy it. It would just take up space in your home. I also think she will go lower with the price just to get rid of it. It's worth a try if you decide to buy.

Is it something you could break up and resell on craig's list?

Though it sounds tempting, I would probably pass.

    I'm a sucker for fabric------------I'd take it. But I'd try for $50

It is a lot of $ if you can only use a few pieces of velvet. I would pass.

tngal: wow.. I would take it and start sewing my widdle fingers off !LOL But then I am a velvet kinda gal; I would have to examine it all very closely to see if I wanted it all or just a box or two.
Interesting for sure .. Let us know what you decide !

I had some nice quality velvet given to me and I made a throw pillow for my granddaughter using velvet and cotton with a velvet back. It was very nice and she loved it.
