Quilt shops in MI?
#2

I can't give you specific quilt shop recommendations for Eastern Michigan. I lived in Western Michigan for 30+ years and shopped at many quilt shops on that side of the state. What I can share with you is my list of links for Michigan quilt shops. I get back to visit family occasionally and it's been handy to have the list available. I have found it helps to call ahead to make sure the shop is still open. Have fun going to new quilt shops!

There is a quilt shop in Frankenmuth-Front Porch quilts--if you go into the Drury Suites hotel parking lot, it is behind the hotel. We were there last Oct. -told my husband "I didn't know there was a quilt shop here"!

Yes, the advice about calling first is very good!! On my recent trip to DC, I found several shops listed as quilting shop on the Internet but got there and they were either closed or upholstery fabric. Very frustrating!!

Boy if you were going on the western side, I could list sooo many!!!! We have family on southwest side and travel there often! I did find an older thread here on QB in regards to the area you will be visiting. http://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f1...i-t208735.html

Sue Nickels and Pat Holly (sister quilters who are featured this summer at Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum in Golden) are from Ann Arbor, MI. Check out the Ann Arbor Sewing Center while you're in the area. It's lovely. They have neat classes, too. The next time I visit my daughter, I'm scheduling around a class I want to take.

Hi, don't know if you will be going near Lansing but there are 4 shops I go to in the area. Country Stitches in East Lansing on Coolidge and Lake Lansing rd., Everlasting Stitches on Aurelius rd. in Holt, Yards of Fabric on E. Ash and Kean's on S. Jefferson in Mason right around the corner from each other. They all have differing styles but are fun to visit. Around the Block in Portland is nice too, I stop there sometimes on my way to Grand Rapids. In Grand Rapids there is Attic Windows on Alpine ave. and a few different Fields Fabrics in various locations. Enjoy your adventure!
