Ok, this one has me baffled. What model and what's with the openings on top?

That is a 201-2 that is missing the silver plate where the spool pin goes. Looks like they employed a used lollypop stick for the spool pin.

Clearly there isn't vintage sewing machine shortage in Texas, so these outrageous prices are truly baffling.

Again, if people are indeed paying those prices for those machines, I am going to start a business of buying machines here, and driving them to Texas.

Are the other 2-3 machines in the photo accessories? I'd take the kittie too...

Speaking of bait 'n switch. Couple days ago my $5 eBay bid was high on a nice Singer 15 clone so called "made in America." (Was interested in a 15 clone "made in America") Upon payment I was informed it was listed incorrectly. It should have been $50. Am currently trying to get back my $5 and shipping. If the process continues I'm beginning a complaint. The money isn't as important as their thinking I'm a patsy. If it costs more in time and money than my investment I'm continuing the complaint. I'm beginning to think the gains on eBay don't outweigh the frustrations.

Most finished Ebay auctions are binding to both seller and buyer, not just buyer. I would dispute it on those grounds if you really wanted the machine. They had the option of ending the auction early or just canceling it.

    http://www.azcentral.com/business/ar...nclick_check=1

"Most eBay auctions -- from antiques to fashion to video games -- are considered to be legally binding contracts, requiring quick payment from the buyer and safe delivery from the seller. Not so for vehicle auctions, which are non-binding and can be canceled by either the buyer or the seller." I bet I can find that in their rules too. This article was more "fun" though.

The cars are not binding, I would think that a sewing machine is.

ETA: I agree, eBay isn't worth the aggravation.

Seems like a simple matter to work out to me. Hope all communication was/is done through eBay messaging.

So far, but eBay requires we work it out between ourselves first. Is still too consuming. Maybe simple but I've other things I'd like to be doing. I'd best get to them.
