Default I bought my first Jelly Roll! What do I do with it?

We have a great Quilt Shop in my area that buys yardage left over from quilters that they are not going to use. Their prices are really good, you just don't have the variety you might want or need. Still it is fun to go there and be creative. I found the Jelly Roll for a very good price. For my area anyway. So...what do I do with it? I don't want to do the Jelly Roll Race quilt and most of the free patterns I have found require either a second Jelly Roll or a Layer Cake. I will be able afford couple of yards of additional material for the top. I would appreciate pattern suggestions etc. I can't wait to hear what you suggest.

I love jelly rolls. Try the Jelly Roll Race Quilt. Here a couple of links with some info. Also, check out Moda Bake Shop.com There are great ideas there for all pre-cuts.

I saw a woven quilt here just yesterday or the day before. It might have been in the pictures section. It was a neat looking quilt.
I would think there would be a lot of quilts using 2.5" strips. You might try Jenny Doan from MSQC's tutorials on Youtube.
She uses a lot of jelly rolls in her projects.
Hope this helps,
Rodney

You can sign up to get some patterns from JellyRollFabric.net I have a couple of ebook of the patterns but you have to sign up to get them. Some beautiful patterns are in them.

The best ideas come from this site. There are some great examples on Penterest that someone pointed me to

I made a basket weave quilt with a jelly roll. Forty strips and some yardage I had for borders, binding.
You could make a Rail Fence quilt also. Really about any quilt that calls for 2-1/2" strips. Maybe add some of your fabrics and make the possibilities any greater.

I've noticed lately that the Arkansas crossroads quilt has been showing up - that looks like it uses a jelly roll - its a 16 patch quilt - also, check Moda Bakeshop - lots of free patterns and of course Missouri Star Quilt co.

Here is a link to a tutorial I used to make the quilt below - only I used five strips (four from the jelly roll and one background fabric in white for the center strip) instead of four. It was a partially used jelly roll, otherwise I probably could have gotten a much larger quilt out of it, about double the size below.
