    Default Jelly Roll Race 2

Hi, Has anyone made a Jelly Roll Race 2 quilt using flannel fabric? Would the fabric be too stretchy and the quilt end up misshaped? Thanks!

I've never tried flannel in a quilt. But, I have heard that it shrinks. So if you decide to go with it, be sure to prewash several times before you cut it into strips. That would make a nice soft quilt.

Yes. I would wash and starch heavily.

A friend of mine made several baby quilts using the jelly roll race method. They were great, no distortion, no problems.
She did not pre- wash so they shrank but evenly. Good luck

I use flannel all the time and the amount of shrinkage you will experience in flannel depends on the quality of the flannel.

I have made several double-sided baby blankets using flannel, no pre washing and the flannel shrink about the same. The blankets were used for years by the recipients, from birth to preschool. I used flannel in quilts I made for my brothers and it was a more expensive flannel so did not shrink much and wore very well. Flannel makes a very soft, cozy quilt.
