Darn! I wish I lived in Portland! I haven't ever bought a machine for display, but I would totally buy these.

Hhhmm. Do you think I could make one of those Hand cranks fit a Singer?

is it impossible to find shuttles for these? These hand cranks would fulfill my dream list!

I will check mine when I get home tonight, but I believe that the F&R's mounting bracket is horizontal as opposed to the singer vertical mount.

These can use the same boat shuttle and long bobbin that the Singer 12 that they are a clone/copy of.
Are these shuttles impossible to find, no, but they usually go for about $30-$50 each though.

FYI - These will sew better than any equivalent Singer. When comparing quality of manufacturing between German and US made sewing machines, think BMW/Mercedes vs Ford/Chevy.

Well $30 would be worth it. But alas the shipping to Iowa would probably make it NOT worth it, lol! Too bad....I was just there in August.

One of the first steps to overcoming SMAD - is to stop checking out craigslist!

My husband tells me not to buy more machines - then he goes on CL and points them out to me!

They don't call them enablers for nothin'!

Baby steps. It's good exercise to see something I want and once again explain to myself why I won't be buying it.

Still, MOP in that condition? Seriously?
