is it impossible to find shuttles for these? These hand cranks would fulfill my dream list!

I will check mine when I get home tonight, but I believe that the F&R's mounting bracket is horizontal as opposed to the singer vertical mount.
These can use the same boat shuttle and long bobbin that the Singer 12 that they are a clone/copy of.
Are these shuttles impossible to find, no, but they usually go for about $30-$50 each though.
FYI - These will sew better than any equivalent Singer. When comparing quality of manufacturing between German and US made sewing machines, think BMW/Mercedes vs Ford/Chevy.

Baby steps. It's good exercise to see something I want and once again explain to myself why I won't be buying it.
