Such beautiful work, and lovely quilting as well! Back when I was younger (cough cough - 40 years ago) I would buy hand work like these at the Salvation Army for 10 and 25 cents each. I came across a lot of pastel linen, and tacked some to the linen to make pillows. Also made pillows out of dresser scarves etc. They were very popular.

Beautiful quilts. I was saving some doilies picked up at thrift stores and yard sales, with the intention of making a quilt with them, but decided I would probably never get around to doing it, so, I gave a friend the doilies, maybe I should ask for them back. LOL

Outstanding work!! Oh my, they are beautiful!
Someone gave me an idea on using antique hankies, which I've collected and sit in a drawer- thanks for the ideas!!!

I am in awe of your work. I too have a box from DH grandmother. She made afghans but many times would test the pattern in a small block first to get her scale and determine what yarn or bedspread cotton to use. Thus pieces that are smaller than 6x6. This is a wonderful way to preserve her work. I have a number of large antique picture frames that would showcase her pieces. I forget you don't need a lot of something to preserve an item of great meaning. I do have one of my grandmothers tatted pieces mounted and framed. Thank you for showing your work.
