These are so cute - would be great for ear phones and/or charging cords.

I think it would cute to sew a row of pockets together and then use them either inside or outside of a tote bag made of scraps.

Just occurred to me - the pockets would also look cute on place mats to hold silverware and/or a napkin; might even use them on a mug rug to hold a napkin.

Not only whimsical but imagine a small boy’s delight at having pockets on his quilt to keep his little cars in, or a little girl’s tiny dolls...win, win.

Watch this video from Bonnie Hunter on how to debone a man's shirt. She uses everything. http://quiltville.blogspot.com/2012/...irt-movie.html

Our local Salvation Army store accepts the scraps and trimmings from our church sewing room. They call them "Remains" and they are sold to companies who make carpet padding and that type of thing. I have also given them to friends who make beds for dog shelters. There is no point in filling a landfill with items that can be recycled.

I've used pockets on Project Linus quilts. I think any child would enjoy them.

Never fear! These are not headed for the landfill. I believe I read or heard somewhere that we average nearly 70 pounds each of textile "trash" each year into our garbage. The ideas given here have my mind on overdrive. You are our usual ingenious group. The cuffs will go into gift card holders! Still working on a plan for the pocket blocks. Anyone need them? PM me! (Guess I should post this elsewhere but it goes with the thread.)

I love the cuff idea. The pockets absolutely would make a great wall hanging for extra sewing items. Show us what you come up with - you know us - we LOVE pictures.
