thank you all for the compliments! I'm not really thrilled with it, so it's going to get cheap batting, a fleece backing and some basic stitching to hold it together. My friend with a "fat cat" is going to get it .... she loves blue and yellow, and can't wait for me to finish it off!

Have done several and they are stiff and bulky...I sold the last on Ebay for someone else to sandwich and quilt.
Yes you have to either slice the 1/4 seams and iron open or snip at each intersection and iron flat...

First let me say, I just love your quilt. Second, I used this to make one of those watercolor quilts, You cant do this without that grid because you can't see fabric placement easily. I pressed the seams open and enjoyed the process a lot.
