There are many machines that have the tension on the nose, that are not clones, like the Kingston in the link above.
The Centennial and Kingston would be considered Class 15 machines since they would use a 15 class bobbins and 15x1 needles.

Right, so not a clone but a 15 class. How does the zigzag work on this machine? Does the hook assembly move back and forth? That is left to right to for the zigzag or is it stationary?
By the look of things, this machine seems to be of a quality that it may well be sewing 100 years from now.

ID if possible
I've spent a good part of the day trying to get information on this machine if possible model # 240B made in Japan machine.
it has Good Housekeeper plate on the front. I don't have the manual.
I've gone through 23 pages on this thread and several other website with no luck.
I'm also new to this forum. I'll attempt to add a picture.
Please advice how to do that.

Does you machine have a JA or JC number on the base?
It may be very difficult to find an exact manual. If it is like the one in the above link, I think that it may be threaded like

The Modern Age machine has instructions on the arm to change the stitches. I'm not sure what the lever with the black knob is, but it is possible that it is to change the needle position, but could be for something else.
We like pictures. In order to post pictures on Quilting Board, you will probably need to reduce or compress the picture to a file size that is smaller than 2MB. How to post images can be found at https://www.quiltingboard.com/attach...020-01-17-.pdf
Don't forget to scroll over to the far right to find and click on the "Upload" button.
I have found that only the big red "Reply" button or "Quote" work to give me the paper clip icon to work for adding pictures.

Or simply - Make sure pictures are smaller than 2MB
Click on red "Reply" button
Click on the paper clip icon

After the pictures show up as being attached, you can close that window and go back to the screen to finish posting your post.
