We do a gift exchange in our family and I always ask for and receive gift certificates to my favorite quilting stores. And it's a win win as they always get quilts back durning the year.

I know it sounds kind of... well something... but I am hoping for enough vision to use my already accumulated stuff! I go in for my post cataract surgeries visit on December 10? to see how well I am healing and if I will be ready for contacts/additional vision correction. I think I will be able to drive again, have been off the roads since about May of this year. The cataract surgeries have helped a lot but didn't change my underlying condition. I'd say roughly that my no-contact vision right now is about where I was at with contacts in May and is so much better than the legally blind I've been since July.

I bought a (used) long arm last year just as my vision was tanking and we haven't set it up yet. That would be a grand present!!

Iceblossom, I do so hope your vision is restored! Using your long arm would indeed be a grand present!

    Let's see..............
Nope- not one of my family members will get me anything quilting related! I bet they figured I have everything I ever needed or wanted (just by looking at my sewing room)
If I had a choice for a gift it would be a whole truckload of rotary blades since I run out of them more than anything else.
Actually that's not quite true. I stock up all the time. They will probably outlive me LOL

I would love to have new quilting squares this year. The lines are wearing off mine making it difficult to measure as accurately as I like. I would also like a flying geese ruler for squaring them up. Not sure which one though. My DH is happy to get these for me. He likes to see the quilts I make.

I must say that I am not a gracious gift receiver! So, I like to get what I want when I want it without fanfare. I prefer experiences to things when it comes to occasions. I don't want or need any quilting things right now, but, when I do, I will just get them.

haha….absolutely can relate to this comment….but also with discussions with DD…they also feel this way…we all get want we need when we want to…. Our very best gifts to each other is time…and food!
I like how I do my quilt projects…. I am sure there are other exciting methods….but guess I am just comfortable with how I do things. If I get the results I want….I am good with that.

It is too hard for anyone to buy me something for christmas that is related to quilting. So, like many of you here on the board, I buy the things I want or need as I see fit.
All that being said I did buy a complete set of 12 kitted blocks for an around town quilt. I have always wanted to make one. So, I am thrilled to have found one from a gal in oregon on Ebay for a reasonable price. I have so much fabrics, patterns and rulers that I don't need anything else.
Now to find the time to make up all the quilts and items I have planned and bought for. That is what I would like more uninterrupted time to craft.

My daughter always asked me what I wanted for Christmas. When I would say I need new dish towels, she would say You don't want dishtowels for Christmas Mom. So I make a list of a few items I want, all very expensive except the dishtowels, that would be on that list. I get the dishtowels, just as I wanted. LOL Now If I don't have anything in mind I get a gift card to the LQS.

I am hoping for a drama-free, healthy, and peaceful Christmas for my entire family and friends (including all of you in the QB).

And an all-paid -for cottage in Hawaii. Or living on a cruise line sailing the world.
