My blocks have arrived. Folks, they are stunning in person. The pictures were great teasers but in my hands they are even more amazing. Thank you so much everyone!

Look at those great blocks! Are you hoping to have the top pieced before Christmas? How long from the design wall to flimsy for you usually? (I fear if mine go on a design wall, they will be on the wall for quite some time.)

WMUTeach, love the squirrel charm! Very fun! I think it may be my label for the Halloween quilt. I'll put a mask on one of the squirrels. :-)

Ibex usually once the blocks are on the design wall they become my priority. But will be leaving for Minnesota Wednesday so these will be sitting on the wall until I return with lattice fabric

Thankfully the pool benefit party has been moved inside since it’s dreary and in the 50’s here.Only poor hubby and his partner will be standing outside grilling while the rest of us are in the warm kitchen.

Hope everyone has a nice day

Good afternoon. DS is on his way to the airport and then home. I already miss him.

It’ll be quiet here for a few hours. Ernie is sound asleep under a warm blanket in the sun after a nice lunch. He’s got quite the life now. I pulled out an old Stephen King short story book and am about to dive in. Have a nice rest of your day. Stay warm.

NZ, looks like a lot of us will be "borrowing" your quilt layout! I think I have it figured out.... I love it!

Terri, I have always made my I Spy quilts with 5" squares. I did make an I Spy Irish Chain for my granddaughter with 2.5's, tho. But usually I just do about 80 5" squares, straight set. You can use any size, really.

Gorgeous Quilt top. I love how it turned out.

I have my blocs but have not even had a chance to open the box.

Love that others have gotten started on theirs.

Happy Holidays,

Kathy

My quilt work day was cancelled today because of ... all kinds of things that left folks unable to attend. We were down to two and then just me, so I yelled CANCELLED to any who may have decided at the last minute to come. I did other things at home as well as watch the U of M and OHIO State football game. An astounding final score. It was predicted to be a run away victory for Ohio State but goodness gracious me, U of M pulled a rabbit out of the hat and won the game! After the that surprise, I went to the sewing room to make blocks for my Scrappiness is Happiness quilt. Sadly I found another block that I missed. The end is in sight, but the end keeps moving father away. Fiddle sticks. I won't allow myself to put up the boom blocks on my wall until this one is finished. About 85% done. Press on, press on, press on to the end.

Default Progress and recommendation?

M-Go-BLUE!! Whadda game! Like WMU teach, I am about 80% done with my BOM Sewing Basket from Laundry Basket quilts. I made it harder by trying to make all 4 corner borders the same, which required an adjustment to the pattern and a custom block. Up until midnight. No boom until this is finished, then I have 2 ByAnnie bags to do, then another partially finished star quilt. Goodness. I took out my new-to-me Brother 1500 from ShopGoodwill.com, and holy cannoli that machine is lightening fast. I wish I could find a non-industrial machine that would do zig zag at 1500 SPM. Anyone know of one? I’d do a vintage machine or even swap out a motor on a VSM if it could go this fast. It’s a joy to see on for sure. Hugs!
