Quiltah Mama--shepherd's pie sounds delicious, it's been a while since I made one. We had meatloaf and mac & cheese for our big meal today.

I had a productive day in the basement (my sewing area). I have 5 tops that need to be quilted and bound by second Thursday in April. The quilt guild is collecting children's quilts at that meeting. I was able to prep a couple more wool applique projects for the March retreat. As usual, I'm taking way more than I could possibly get done.

Will check back in tomorrow afternoon.

I have learned the the new kitty (Fern) wants to help out in the sewing room. She especially likes to hold fabric or my quilting rulers down by laying on them so they won't get away from me. This week has been a learning process with her. Yesterday I had to wait until she took a long nap before I could actually do some sewing. Probably won't get as much sewing/quilting done as i had previously. Please don't worry about cat hair on my quilts, as all quilts get lint rolled and then washed twice before being given away.

The warmth of a loving four-footed friend just can't be calculated but it can be distributed to.....everywhere.

I finished the quilting on my baby quilt and I am ready to add the binding. I tested positive for Covid yesterday and let's say I am low on endurance but I still plan on finishing my one quilt this weekend then put it in the wash.

Got 5 more tops done this morning and 3 of the pastel pink fronts cut out and one half sewn. The construction top with orange, I have two of them, the printed orange fabric to me is similar to an I spy print, thought that would be fun. And two more with the construction print with red and blue strips. Used up more flannel blocks ( deer,trees), and used up the Noahs Ark flannel. The pastel pink with the owls and butterflies once I complete them all, I will have 5 total, all the same design. I recounted today, in total when completed, will have 12 baby quilts to donate.

I went "backwards" with my progress. Spent a little over 4 hours unquilting Garden Glow. I always have the hardest time figuring out how I want to quilt something. Had 2 false starts already this past week, so I decided to do the E2E panto that I did on the throw size version I made last year, only to realize after 3 rows of quilting that this quilt really did need custom/ruler work. Pick Pick Pick.

Quiltah Mama - from a slump to mass production!

Decided to sew the applique petals down on a quilt and am using 100 wt thread. Wish I would have used Aurifil. Every time I use the thread cutter, thread pops out and needs to be rethreaded. With my eyes watering from allergies and that thin of thread, it's a nightmare. So am going old school and manually cutting the thread plus I'm having some breckage. I will say you can't see the stitches but not sure it's worth it.

Wow, 100wt thread, I have used clear before, but I can't even imagine 100 wt., I bet it is fine almost like hair.
WMU, I hope your symptoms are minimal.
I guess my mojo is back, this VQW inspired me after I found the fabric with the owl's and butterfies, I have held onto that fabric long enough, time for some baby and mama to enjoy it.
