Hey, Bibliostone!!! Glad to hear from you. Congrats on your recent finishes. Want to finish some of mine??? If you feel like it, post some pix. Love looking at everyone’s finished projects.

Hope everyone is having a pleasant Valentine’s Day. DH and I had a late lunch out and ate enough for the whole weekend. Oh, dear. Salads minus dressing tomorrow.

SBG, sounds like you’re enjoying your retreat.

My Oopsie Daisy L&E is a step closer to being a flimsy. Now to join the four unit blocks into a top and add a border to enlarge it another 6 inches or so. Pic below. It’s sure busy! Sheesh.

Yeah Biblistone it’s great you will be joining us once again.

We are going for a few day stay to South Padre Island tomorrow, it’s been in the 90’s here and mid 70’s at the island. The plan is simple, walk the beach, listen to live music and relax. On the way back we are heading to Brownsville to see the SpaceX station.

Sewbiz great to hear you are enjoying your lakeside retreat.

Used MJP block for bag. Thank you one and all.
Great quilt, I love the Rag Quilt Idea, I tried one at Christmas, compete fail as my starting blocks were way to small. Great Idea to use the 12 inch blocks. I will have to try this.

TG, love the rag quilt. Never thought to do that with our blocks. Great idea and very pretty. Are you keeping this one or will somebody else be the lucky recipient?

Busy plugging away on Oopsie Daisy L&E, on and off. I thought I had enough blocks but I’m going to enlarge it. Back to cutting. Oopsie! lol.

I just finished putting on the snowballed corners on my Oopsie Daisy project. They’re all up on the design wall. When the sun comes in the room in the morning, I’ll start rearranging. A pic follows.

Have a pleasant evening.
Beautiful quilt, Janice. Nice you were able to use scraps. Great job

So, I’m setting dates for Boom 35. Looking at starting signups on 3/22, F8s to arrive to me by 4/17, I ship to you on 4/21 and blocks due back to me 7/24. You’ll have your blocks back early August. Am wondering how that looks for you all.
Dates work good for me too. I will be sending two sets. I have marked it on my Calendar. now to decide what I want to send.

Hi bibliostone! So glad you will be coming back to the Boom swap. We have missed you.

I'm home from the retreat! It was so much fun! I got to know a lot of ladies much better than I did previously. All of us were like sorority girls, (in aging bodies). We played a game they called "Strip Poker", involving swapping jelly roll strips. I had never played it, and found it really fun. The big lodge was abuzz with all of our sewing machines going.

Once home, I tried to work on my second Party Animals quilt, which I have decided to gift to my GD. She is turning 7. To my dismay, my longarm was sewing poorly, skipping sts, and eventually stopped forming stitches altogether! I tried everything and nothing made it stitch! Today I thought of something else that might be causing it, a bent bobbin. It looked fine but, sure enough, once I swapped it out and started using Tex 40 thread instead of the finer thread I was using, the stitches started to work! I was able to balance the tension and now it's sewing well again. Hooray! I will take a pic for you all, once I get the party animals quilt done. Your blocks in it are beautiful and creative, and I know my GD Millie will love the quilt!

I am SO SAD that Robert Duvall died today! He was 95, and one of our favorite actors ever.

Robert Duvall was a phenomenal actor! I don't know many of the new folks that are coming up as potential long term actors. So many TV shows and I don't keep an eye on anything if it isn't on Ovation.

I share your sadness. RIP Robert Duvall. 95 years is a good long life. Condolences to his family, if any of them are here in the QB.

LOVED Robert Duvall!
A couple of months ago my hubby and I got out our DVDs of Lonesome Dove and enjoyed it like it was the very first time we saw it. I can't tell you how many times I've watched that one. He was certainly one of the best and I'm glad he lived such a long life. Not long enough for us though.......... After the Olympics I'm going to rewatch some of his other movies.
