Turned out cute.

    Watson
This is neat! Which came first, the stitching or the crayon?

Whew! Spent the entire day quilting...not complaining, but feeling kind of stiff at this point. But also soooo excited that the baby quilt (The Barnyard Dance farm quilt) is entirely quilted. I even quilted the baby's name onto the tractor. It's very subtle, which makes it a game of 'Where's Brody's Name'. (I did the same thing with his brother's baby quilt) Meanwhile ~ Tomorrow is another day ~ for me to tackle the binding.

Love seeing all the projects. Y'all are doing great!
And sooo glad one of y'all's hubby didn't have a stroke. How scary!

    Hugs to all!

Love seeing all the pictures - helps to keep me motivated.

I spent a while trying to decide what fabrics to use with the Mini Quick Curve ruler - and then remembered all those leftover batiks I had. So out they came and I went to work.

I had seen this pattern on Pinterest, and went to Sew Kind of Wonderful to find it (they sell the rulers too) and could not find it - then I noticed they had some free patterns so I looked there and YEA! The one I wanted is a free one!

It's turning out very easy to use, and I'm sure enjoying all the colors.

I'm done sewing for the night - got to make marshmallow creme for my pecan logs.

    Nora,
Welcome! I graduated from UNC Greensboro (twice) back when Noah docked the ark. Do you have a sewing machine? You also need to check out Pineapple Fabrics. They are having a big sale at the end of the month. They are in Archdale I think. Over near High Point, NC. If you get desperate, message me if there's anything I may be able to help outfit you with. We can meet in the middle or come to Raleigh for the day and we'll PLAY!

This is my favorite... a Christmas one (shown before quilting):

These both are 48 block layouts (6x8) so you would start with 48 10" squares. The quilt comes out nearly as big as the top of a double bed.
Those 3 layer cakes I used were all the same. The guidelines called for 40" by 40" quilts. I just put 16 10' blocks together and let the fabric do the rest. It was like doing 8 16 patch squares except each made a stand alone top! The tops turned out pretty nice and they definitely have the American Patriot feel.

Your tops are both fantastic. I am a sucker for anything that is red, white and black! But doing it the way that I did, I did not have to even cut anything. I just sewed them up! Might use your idea for the last 4. Thanks for sharing!

I didn't do too well today. I'm trying to finish up some Christmas presents I started way back in the summer before I got busy with car shows, dog stuff and quilt fest. I had cut the pieces for the tissue holders the wrong size! Made up 3 of them only to find that they were too small. I was able to take the zippers out so I can reuse them. So tomorrow will be Christmas gifts, second try.

I finished basting and started quilting this afternoon. My original idea was to FMQ falling leaves randomly into a simple meader quilting design. My leaves looked more like devils claws, LOL!! So I'm ripping it out. I'll just stick to simple meadering. At least I'm okay at that!

Just checking in before we settle down for the evening. Got most of the parlor cleaned and worked on the wall hanging, I think its going well. My first real attempt at hand quilting.

I have been working on the feathers.

This is the one I am going to long arm on Monday.

I think I will do a geometric meandering. Unless someone has any good ideas?
    See you tomorrow.
