Hi, St. Paul. I am in St. Paul too and we have shoveled today and it needs it again, but we aren't going to do anything anymore until it stops.

We are in a Snow Emergency starting at 9:00 PM tonight. I am assuming we all know what to do now so we won't get hauled away. We are on the opposite side of a snow plow route and will move our van around 5:00 AM tomorrow.

It is here and we are staying safe. Edie

PS - You stay safe also, ok?

After having so much snow this winter and huge piles of it all around my driveway my one question is where to put it?
Am looking so forward to Spring!!! Please be safe out there everyone :-)

Latest forcast is calling for 24-32 inches of snow and 5 ft. drifts. That is a lot of snow.

I guess when we all wake up, a bunch of us r going to be miserable. It has not started doing anything here ( close to Spfd, Mo) yet but its drizzling lightly. Have extra clothes/ blanket packed in truck in case I can't get home from work & have to stay alnight. DH is a lineman for same company so he will be to busy to help me if I get in trouble. They r saying Blizzard conditions here too :( Spring please come soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have had rain off and on starting about 10:30 this morning to fall on top of the snow that hasn't melted from the last fall. But the temperature is falling and I just looked out and there is a glaze on everything. It is really shiny out! Luckily, I am planning to stay in! I am hoping this turns into snow, I don't care how much. Ice is too dangerous for both people and the power lines!

WE are supposed to get 1 to 3" in New Mexico, and I am so excited. We have had to rain, only a dusting of snow, and it is so dry here I can't stand it. So I hope we get a foot. My DH doesn't agree, but I want to sit and watch the snow fall as I quilt tomorrow. Don't want to watch the dust blow. But for those who will get to much.....becareful out there.

The freezing rain isn't supposed to hit us til tomorrow afternoon, but we are on the edge so maybe it won't be too bad. My Dad's house is just 9 doors away, but is a different city and different power grid. So far we have never both lost power.

Seems like this phenomena is everywhere. I got an email from a guy in Queensland (Australia), which is ironically very funny:

Subject: sea breeze
AT THE RISK OF SOUNDING LIKE A DRAMA QUEEN, WE WERE BRIEFED BY EMERGENCY SERVICES YESTERDAY AFTERNOON WERE TOLD THE FOLLOWING
· UP TO 300 KLM WINDS

· 7000 MM TIDAL SURGE

· 1.5 TO 2 METRE OF RAINFALL

· 100 KLM WIDE CYCLONE EYE

· COULD GO INLAND AS FAR AS RICHMOND (400 KLMS)

· WILL BE WINDS HERE TOMORROW MORNING

· B.O.M HAVE NEVER MODELLED A STORM OF THIS SIZE EVER IN AUSTRALIA.

SOME OF THESE BLOKES PACKED UP THEIR FAMILIES AND SENT THEM TO BRISBANE. THE GOVERNMENT ARE PRESENTLY SENDING SMS MESSAGES TO EVERYONE WARNING OF CYCLONE.
