i can't exactly ask her mom,how it is going...joey told me in confidence...my son was worried about her, and he called me.
we all hang out together when i am visiting Texas..they are my sons neighbors.
maybe sending this quilt, will open the door for Renee to call and talk to me about what is going on with her daughter and the school.i hope so.

i made up the binding today too..so i will take it wednesday to quilt group..and get it pinned. I hope to have it done and out the door by thursday or friday..

maybe i will overnight it... .if they deliver on saturdays.

i think her birthday is very soon..my grandson's birthday is the 18th..and i know they are celebrating their birthdays together, with a BBQ and pool party, this coming weekend.

What a lovely way to state it and I agree wholeheartedly! The colors are great and she will be so happy that someone wanted to do something just for her. Bless your heart.

The quilt is lovely - is there a way, through this quilt, that she can be helped to make friends that see past her "outward" appearance? She will deal with this all her life, in one form or another, as long as her weight is an issue? How about TEACHING her to quilt, then having her participate in a "kids quilt" workshop, where kids - boys and girls - make quilts for children who need them for other victims - loss of homes, abuse/domestic violence victims, etc.?

I think your colors are perfect, and she will love that you cared enough to do this for her. As a chubby child myself and always having a weight problem throughout my entire life, no matter how thin I got, I still felt fat and to this day I still remember the cruel jokes, snide remarks and laughter that I had to endure throughout school. Children can be so very cruel. and the sad part is that they will continue to pick on her or someone else because the parents do not reprimand their child, or teach them that saying cruel things to anyone else should not be tolerated. It is truly a wonderful gift you are giving her by showing her that someone cares and that she is special.
