That is beautiful! And the whole meaning behind it is wonderful. I am sure it served as a healing power for you while making it, as much as it is now that it is finished. My 76 year old brother and I are all that are left of our family. We lost a brother 5 years ago to a brain tumor. We lost our dad when I was 18, and my mother 25 years ago, so I know what it is like to feel like the end of the family thread. May you continue to heal, and grow stronger every day through all your wonderful memories.

So very sorry to hear about your brother. The quilt is beautiful, and it's made with love. Your young nephew will treasure it

Your heart was in the right place making the quilt for your brother - and it continues to be in the right place - you are a very sweet, compassionate person, I can tell. I wish you all the blessings and strength in the days ahead. My father passed away on November 14, 2011, and it was very, very difficult - he was sick a long time and in the end it was awful. I still struggle but with lots of prayers, support and encouragement from friends and family, it sure helps. Your quilt is beautiful and will be a heirloom.

How beautiful and thoughtful! I wish I did this years ago. I started a fisherman's knit afghan for my father in 1970, but he died before it was finished--- I have never completed it - now I wish I made it for my mother. Thank you for your story and my sympathy to you and yours.

What a beautiful sentiment and gift. Bless you!
