I would do a narrow black border then the polka dot border. It's looking good!

I like the black border, makes the quilt stand out more.

Hello everyone

Just an update on my black/brown/tan glittery quilt.
I am breaking all the quilt rules so don't tell the "quilt police" on me. But I am using everyone's suggestion of framing it with black - just adding something tiny.

I have done piping in the past with the itty bitty piping, but this time I just wanted something very small inbetween the quilt and the black border, so I am almost done - I actually bought piping that would be used for pillows (I think it is 5/8 inch) - a lot bigger than normally used for quilts; and wrapped it with the brown and gold poka dot material.

I wanted one row of the gold dots to show - didn't want just brown - so that is why I had to use a larger cord for piping.
I am putting on the last side now, and then will put the black border on.

Before I put black border on I am going to look at some Very Very light embroidery scrolls or ??? on the black material before I cut and attach it.

It's getting there.

Uh Oh, now you've done it, already confessed the quilt police are going to get you lol. It sounds so interesting, I just can't wait to see the finished product. I really like the brown quilt. I think piping is a great idea. Have any pic. to show us as to the progress so far? Way to go lady. Sounds like you are headed for home on this quilt now.

I think the black border is too dark and detracts from your beautiful piecework. I would do a dotted border and a black binding.
