Being a retired interior designer it's always changing, but for the most part a light weight blanket, and sheet, and the spread stays on a quilt rack. I'm hoping to get something made for myslef in the next year. In the mean time its some custom spreads I had made by my drapery workroom when I was still in business.

Yes I have made several large quilts that I use on my bed which is queen sized. And I did quilt a few on my domestic machine before I got my first short arm and then advance to a Gammell Premier which is a mid arm. I don't do a lot for others other than family, but I have several that I need to do for myself. I use an 80/20 cotton/poly blend or all cotton so they are not too hot to have on the bed year round here in KS. That is part of the beauty of cotton, comfort besides being user friendly, poly has a mind of it's own. I like the idea of having made quilts that I and my family can use rather than saving them for strangers to use after I'm gone.

vschieve - ellenmg's quilt tester is what really caught my eye in that picture too - he/she looks much like my shih tzu, Jasper, in my avatar........wondering if it's another shih tzu.
Oh what a sweet quilt tester! My quilts get "loved" like yours on your bed too. Much as I think I should train them to stay off the bed......they always end up there by morning anyway.

I have quilts that I have made on all my beds......one queen and two twins. Scrappy bargello on one twin.....cornerstone on the other, and my Eleanor Burns Tossed Nine Patch on the queen. Apparently that pattern is the same as the D9P that is mentioned a lot.

I use a cheaters quilt on my bed because of dog. My son has 5 or 6 quilts and they are all in use. Never save anything is his motto. Use it. No pets at his house. All the quilts are pieced and quilted by Mom/
