I sew mine together and use for small projects....pot holders etc.

I keep a few bags of scraps so I can stuff something like a pillow or toy, or join to a larger piece of batt to fit a quilt top.

I use mine to practice my free motion quilting on before I free motion on the project I am working on. I also save mine and make small items from it. Like 2 in strips would work in the handles of a tote or bag. Love all the ideas that everyone have given you...think I will still a couple ;o)

I use them in a bucket filter in my pond and both my daughter & I use them as filter material in our aquariums. If they are big enough, you can sew them together for another quilt.

I had a wonderful time using rectangular pieces of left over batting to make Mug Rugs....so cute and fun for gifting.Can try out quilting and design ideas on a small scale.

I saw an interesting QAYG (quilt as you go) method where the sewist used a backing fabric square, strips of scrap batting placed on the backing, and then the top string pieces, laying in the opposite direction of the batting strings. So now I am saving my strips of batting...

make small pieces and use the batting, then make a quilt from the small pieces already they will be already batted. like pot holder size and you can zigzag the pieces together. No, I don't throw any thing away. I find a use for them all.:lol:

You can ladder stitch them together and they are great for table runners, mug rugs, pot holders, coasters, trivets, casserole carriers. Lots of projects.

I got some of this at either JoAnn's or Hobby Lobby Just in the last month.

I save all my batting scraps to use as stuffing and they can be sewn together with a large zig zag stitch and used in something bigger. I would not recommend a bunch of little ones for large quilt but they work well for small ones.

Also it makes good stuffing in soft animals etc for kids and dogs.
I have also used a small piece pinned to my shirt to put the thread tails on as I stitch - keeps them off my pants. Some quilters put a piece down next to the machine for this but I like the one pinned to me better.

You will continue to have scraps of fabric and batting.. and I think they make the best quilts.
