Emma--I am doing the 50 Stars as a BOW. DJ, I am not planning to make all the blocks. I want to make 2 smaller quilts...one using just the triangle blocks (there is a sample in the book I really like) and then enough of the square blocks for a large lap/twin size. I have fabric for the squares already, so that is what I will work on in 2014. Can't decide for sure what fabric I want for the triangles...that might wait until 2015!

Those are my WIPs carriem. I have a bag with all the fabric needed for the DJ with the book and template. I am still on the fence about the 50 Stars. Will see how I want to progress on that one. Not a real PP. I have them all printed, just not done. I have a couple Jinny Beyer BOM quilts also for the last two years with the fabric all together and ready to go. Those are on my 2014 list of to dos.

I am using one big center I already had made for my medallion quilt along it was started in memory of my mom good idea just got .. put into a box and stayed there. This is to push me into finishing it and using some of my already purchased fabrics. I buy but have no use for what I buy but one day kind of shopping. one yard of this one of that. never enough to .. finish anything. So medallion quilts round robin style will allow me to use up some of those fabrics plus a whole lot of my scraps. I even gave up my table runner swap for the beginning of the year to another member so I can get this stuff going. those four booms talk at me all day long.. get your tail over here! cut some sashing why don't you! I hide under my pillow, la la la cant hear you. However they keep talking so its time to just get them done. And those panels we all buy. I have three right now.. no plans for those. I so want to bring my stash down to a single shelf. Shop for what you need not just what impulsively hits you. Its a wish. Its my 2014 goal. I believe I can do it. I am pretty much a mule when I decide on something. so.. watch me I will win over my ufo's yet.

    A single shelf?!?
Oh my goodness I dont think i could ever do that. Unless the shelf was 50 feet long. Lol!
Of course not all of mine is just for quilting. I have a good bit of tapestry and drapery/ upholstery fabric as well as fleece, corduroy, and denim.

Have to admit, had to go back and read about your "single shelf". I'm embarrassed to admit my stash resides in four six foot book shelves, two walk in closets with shelves on all walls and assorted plastic tubs for scraps.

A "single shelf"? I'm like Emma, I have a hug room stuffed. We are moving in a little over a year, so I really need to get a handle on the fabric - if I donate the UFO's to someone who does them for charity, does that count as doing them? Maybe not. But I sure will feel good about not having to pack them up and transport them across country.

Everose: Of course that counts, you may not be finished but your finished, if you know what I mean. I moved a couple of years ago and was horrified at how many boxes of fabric I packed. The worst is how heavy they are. My advise is stick to medium size boxes, the weight splits the larger ones. I've solved the problem, I just won't move again.

Will not be finishing any UFOs this year. I will though, however, be working hard next year for the last of the UFOs and do some of my WIPs. My focus will be more on how I finish them so I can make them into the show quilts they are. Looking forward to following our thread for 2014.
Asimplelife, you did awesome on busting down that stack of UFOs this year, congrats.
Emma, the projects you finished this year as so beautiful and wonderfully made. You pat yourself on the back.
If you go back thru the year on the projects we finished. I think we all need an extra special CONGRATS!!!!! Some of those were old and some not so much, but they are finished quilts.

Yayyyyyy!!! I finished my DGD's plaid quilt! I am calling it Plaid Patches. I posted the photos on the Pictures thread, so here is the link. http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...ml#post6468000

I started collecting and cutting the fabric for this quilt at this time last year. It got set aside for some other projects, plus both new knees. I'm so happy I still got it in under the wire this year!
