I can't picture this!? How could you make a drunken path with circles? I'm not very up on blocks, but am very curious about this.
Take your circle of fabric[could be crazypatch, etc.] put it on fusible interfacing with the right side of fabric and fusible side of interfacing together.Stitch all the way round. Cut slit on back and turn right side out. Press onto center of desired square. Top stitch around to secure. Cut into 4 egual squares. You now have 4 perfect Drunkards Path blocks.
I have GOT to take time out of my pinwheel project tonight to make a block like this. Sounds like fun!!!

I love all the ideas here. So here is a little math for those who want a square in a circle or a triangle in a circle. For the square in a circle, remember the diagonal of the square would be the same as the diameter of the circle; so for an 8" circle the sides would be 5.65", & 8" diagonal. For a an equilateral triangle (all sides equal)in an 8" diameter circle ~ 6.93" per side of triangle... easiest to just follow this link & print out the shape on your printer.
Here is a link to a lot of shapes inscribed inside a circle, which you could print to scale to fit your filter. http://etc.usf.edu/clipart/galleries...p?page=2&term= You can trace over a light box onto your filter or tape it up to a window for tracing. You will also find stars in a circle, & other shapes. Hope this will give you another design for your new favorite circle template.
For those who don't want to sew a curved edge that must match up, just do it as an applique with fusible & satin stitch.
Here is a video to a class I attended @ a quilt show several years ago. She will @ the Sacramento, CA show this weekend @ CAL Expo doing this free class. http://quiltingwithcharlie.com/quilt...structions.htm
She does a nice & simple method of sewing circles together to make some fun quilts. Fast & easy.
Best wishes, Cathy

Junec, Thank you for the blog of coffee filters. Also they had some nice ways to decorate and ideas for sewing room.
I will look at this blog again. Neat ideas for yarn and needles too.

"Circle A Round" by Cheryl Phillips?? I took a class on that technique.

Remember the stove top perculators? There is a filter made for them that is square; you lay it in and spread out the circular part, and then you pull up the corners and hook them onto the syphon stem.

My point is-if wanting to piece on square vs. circle, buy these. According to the Melitta package, they are 9 1/2 x 9 1/2 inch square.

CORRECTION on "Square" coffee filters; they are 9 1/8 x 9 1/2..http://coffeecoffeepercolators.blogs...rcolators.html

But you could always cut the side down and make it a perfect square and still piece on it.
